Obituary for Adam Levi Brookens

BROOKENS, ADAM LEVI, age 40, of Saint Charles passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw.

Funeral Services for Adam will be held at the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gordy Houser officiating. Interment will follow in Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, December 21, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel or the church.

Adam was born on October 5, 1980, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Roger and Karen (Kyser) Brookens. He married Melissa Gillespie on October 26, 2002, in Mt. Pleasant. Adam was selfless, always more concerned with helping others over himself, and always kept his cool. He was a hard worker and proud of any project he worked on. He enjoyed spending time with his children and working on Case tractors. Family was the most important thing to Adam.

Adam is survived by his wife, Melissa Brookens; children, Taylor and Colton; parents; siblings, Kim (Jen) Brookens, Julia (Hans) Schwarzkopf, Joel (Hope) Brookens, and Anna (Erik) Spindler; brother-in-law, Nathan Gillespie; in-laws, Kenneth and Luann Gillespie; several nieces and nephews; and loving dog, Jake.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents.
