Obituary for Albert D. Allard
Albert “Al” D. Allard age 87 of Harrison passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Albert was born June 14, 1936 in Flint, Michigan the son of Walter John Allard and Florence (Cummings) Allard. Al graduated from Dye High School, Flint, Michigan in 1955. Soon after graduating, Al went to work with General Motors Corporation V8 Engine Plant of Flint and invested thirty-Four years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Allard was united in marriage to Ms. Judy Ann Hayden on February 14, 1986 in Flint, Michigan.
Al had resided full time in Harrison since 1994, moving from Montrose, Michigan, he had vacationed in Harrison since 1962 until moving here permanently. Soon after retiring to Harrison, Al went to work part time with the State of Michigan DNR division as well as Doc’s Dumpsters. Al was a member of Harrison Moose and Family Center #2235 of Harrison for many years. Al was also a volunteer with the Special Deputies in Genesee County in the 90’s. He enjoyed boating, pontoon rides, traveling with the travel trailer, snowmobiling, jeeping, golfing, and yearly deer hunting trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with his friends.
Surviving Mr. Allard is his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Mrs. Judy Ann Allard of Harrison, six children; Patty Martin and Bud Watkins of Montrose, Michigan, Brenda Cahours and husband James of Lake Wales, Florida, Deborah Dowd and Dennis Vance of Montrose, Todd Hayden of Clio, Michigan, Trisha Massey and husband Ryan of Oakland Township, Michigan and Christopher Vickerman and wife Tina of Allegan, Michigan, sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild, several extended family and special friends; Fred Staley, Bill Randall, Mike Fillhard, Gary and Nea and Tim and Cathy Lockwood. Mr. Allard was preceded in death by his parents, three sons; Walter “Buddy” Allard, David Allard and Travis Vickerman and one great-grandson, Gage Gross.
Celebration of Life service honoring Mr. Allard will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Real Life Church, 214 North Saginaw Street, Montrose, Michigan 48457, with Pastor Tim Hobson officiating. A time of gathering and sharing memories will take place on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
