Obituary for Allen Charles Schafer
SCHAFER, ALLEN CHARLES, age 73, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home.
Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill in Mt. Pleasant. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Medical Care Facility or Sacred Heart Academy Athletic Association. Envelopes are available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Allen was born on June 12, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Lavern and Anna (Flachs) Schafer. He was a graduate of Beal City High School with the class of 1968. Allen was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Mt. Pleasant Aries Eagles #4463. He was an avid sports fan, especially Beal City Athletics. Allen loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He married Deborah Hilliard on February 14, 2008, in Mt. Pleasant.
Allen is survived by his wife Deborah Schafer; son Nathan (Rebeckah) Schafer of Plainwell, Neil (Kimberly) Schafer of Belmont; stepdaughters Karla Harman (Brandon Anton) of Mt. Pleasant, Kristi Wonsitler of Bolivar, MO; stepson Kyle Harman (Daisy Jones) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Isabella Schafer, Eliana Schafer, Micah Schafer, Anna Schafer, Eliza Schafer, Roxanna Harman, Victoria Smith, Alex Haswell, Kendall Gregory, Dylan Gregory, Sophia Gregory; brother Kevin (Catherine) Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Patricia (Alberto) Daniele of Wood Dale, Ill, Charlotte Peczkowski of Aurora, Ill; mother of his sons, Carol Sirvio Schafer; mother-in-law Madaline Hilliard Smith; father-in-law Charles Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Darwin Schafer.
