Obituary for Amy Leigh Burnell
BURNELL, AMY LEIGH, age 53, of Alma, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Amy was born January 5, 1968, in Saginaw, the daughter of Russell Burnell and Vina “Mae” Howard. She graduated from Breckenridge High School with the class of 1987. Amy was a strong and brave woman; she had a stroke at age 29 and was in a wheelchair since 1997. She loved crafting, drawing, and painting. Amy was well loved by family and friends. She always had a wonderful outlook on life and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Amy is survived by her mother Mae Hamond; brother Russell (Merry) Burnell of St. Louis; stepmom Janet Burnell; aunts and uncles: Kathy (Tom) Watson, Rhoda (Ron) Hoffman, Anne Burkhart, Howard (Ginny) Burkhart, Fred (Jackie) Burkhart, Jackie Morris, Shelby Stockwell; and 5 stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Amy was preceded in death by her father Russell Burnell; stepdad Chuck Hammond; uncle George Burkhart; and her grandparents.
