Obituary for Amy Kathleen Oakley (Thomas)
Amy K. Oakley, age 63, of Harrison, MI, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at her home.
She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Amy was born September 18, 1960 to Robert and Margaret Thomas in Clare, MI. She graduated from Harrison high school in 1978. She loved cooking, gardening, hiking, and spending days on the river. Amy believed in making everyone feel loved and welcomed in her presence
Amy is survived by her children: Rian (Nichole) Oakley of Caldwell, KS, Thomas (Autumn Haag) Oakley of Harrison, MI, Joseph Oakley of Harrison, MI; Travis (Emily) Oakley of Harrison, MI; Jerald (Kelly Muir) of Ferndale, MI; Megan Sheldon of Harrison, MI
Amy leaves behind 19 grandchildren (including fur grandchildren), all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Amy is survived by her siblings: Margaret Brooks of Harrison, MI; Janet Lankford of Kalamazoo, MI; Kathy Brand of Harrison, MI; and Juile Eggert of Flint, MI. Amy also leaves behind her two Jack Russell Terriers, Willy and Rosie and her golden lab, Honey. Cats, Mandy & Rusty, and her beloved boyfriend of 12 years Larry Sheldon.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Karen Liposky & Roberta Nicefield & the father of her children Allen Oakley.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Amy's memory on Saturday, April 27" 2024; at Camp Deer Trails 6651 N Eberhart Ave, Harrison, MI. at 1:00 pm.
