Obituary for Anastasis "Thomas" Sarakatsanis

SARAKATSANIS, ANASTASIS "THOMAS" “THE GREEK”, age 61, of Cape Canaveral, FL, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MI passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Advent Health Care in Orlando, FL.

Funeral Services for Thomas will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Timothy Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at Cheers Neighborhood Grill following the graveside service. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of memorial contributions, please pay it forward in a way of your choosing in memory of Thomas.

Thomas was born on April 26, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant, MI son of Angelos and Malamatie (Markou) Sarakatsanis. Tom loved to cook, working as a chef from fine dining to diners. He enjoyed traveling and visiting family. After his move to Florida, Tom began a new career working at Port Canaveral. He enjoyed being by the water and in the Florida sun, fast cars, his companion Connie and his cats. He will be remembered for his smirk and laughter, which always warmed those around him. He was very loyal to family and friends and loved to share stories from the good ole days.

Thomas is survived by his sister, Anastasia (Mark) Bristley; nieces, Holli Bristley, Stephanie Bristley, and Nicole Bristley; great-niece, Alexandra Russell; aunt, Afrodite Marks; uncle, Milton (Yiota) Marks; many close and loving cousins.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Serafim and Chrysoula Marks; aunts and uncles, Bill and Eva Mourtzouhos, Sandra and Jim Tolas, Ike Marks, Efrosini and Thanos Anastasou; and cousins, Sam and Kathy Marks.
