Obituary for Anna Belle Smith
SMITH, ANNA BELLE, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Anna will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Anna was born January 1, 1933, in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Maley and Myrtle (Empson) White. She earned her master’s degree from Indiana State University where she was a member of ZTA sorority. She married John Smith on July 4, 2001, in Alma. Anna worked as an elementary school teacher for many years as well as a college instructor at Lansing Community College. Following retirement, Anna also worked as a travel agent in Alma. She was a member of East Superior Christian Church in Alma.
Anna is survived by her son Tully Henderson and daughter Sherry (Brent) Fedak, both of Pawnee, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; step-daughters Jessica (Frank) Lafata of Royal Oak, Krisanna (Mark) Kulak of Royal Oak, Marissa (Kenneth) Swartz of Clinton Township, and Carinna (Patrick) Sharrak of Royal Oak.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Dale and Gene White; and sister Evelyn Bridges.
