Obituary for Arthur Holden Faleer

FALEER, ARTHUR HOLDEN, aged 94, passed away peacefully at Woodland Hospice in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, on January 7, 2017, following a brief illness. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 7, 1922, the son of Edgar and Gladys Faleer. Art was a veteran of World War II, having served in Air Transport Command, U.S. Army Air Force. During the war, he was an airplane engine mechanic trained to work on C-46 and C-47 transport planes at airbases in Morocco. Following his war service, Art worked for over 25 years as a lithographer, and then in security at the General Dynamics tank plant in Warren, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant daughter, Suzanne. Art is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Lorene, sons Robert (Shirley) and William (Trina), grandchildren Ian (Anakarine), Leah (Sam) Marcus, Hannah, and Alec, and 4 great-grandchildren. A private family memorial is being planned.
