Obituary for Ashlee Nicole Keshick

KESHICK, ASHLEE NICOLE, age 24, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at McLaren Greater Lansing.

A Private Funeral Service for Ashlee will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Friends are invited to attend the services via a live broadcast on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. by clicking the "Watch Webcast" icon below, or visiting www.facebook.com/clarkfuneralchapel.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at a public visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Spring burial will take place at Denver Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a fund to be set up for Ashlee’s children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Ashlee was born in Mt. Pleasant, November 14, 1996, the daughter of Elizabeth Shomin and Elmer Keshick, Jr. She loved listening to music, traveling, visiting family, and spending time with her friends. Ashlee adored her children and loved them dearly. Her favorite things to eat were chili, frybread, and pepperoni pizza. She was proud of her Anishinaabe background and was rez through and through. Ashlee loved taking selfies and took pride in her appearance. She was a member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and liked attending pow wows.

Ashlee is survived by her children: Aubriana Shomin-Detzler and Linda Shomin both of Mt. Pleasant, Juan Gomez of Lansing; her mother Elizabeth Shomin (Roger Tackett); sisters Christina Keshick, Aaliyah and Natalee Tackett; special friend Jake Detzler; father of her son Jose Gomez; stepsister Keeley Shea McCann; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ashlee was preceded in death by her father Elmer; paternal grandparents Elmer and Patricia Keshick; maternal grandparents Paul and Linda Shomin; aunts Sarah and Christina Shomin; and cousins Kara Franco and Steven Waboose.
