Obituary for Barbara Louise Myers (Koblick)
Barbara Louise Myers, age 84, of Harrison passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Barbara was born January 31, 1939 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of George Paul Koblick and Opal Goldie (Wilkerson) Koblick. Barbara graduated from Clay High School in South Bend, IN in 1957. Soon after her completion of school, Barbara was united in marriage to Mr. James Edward Myers on August 23, 1958 in South Bend, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Myers enjoyed forty-five years of marriage, until James preceded Barbara in death on March 23, 2003.
Mrs. Myers had resided full-time in Harrison since 2021, moving from Edwardsburg, Michigan. She had lived part-time or visited Harrison part-time since 1965, staying with family at the rustic cabin, her “happy place”. She enjoyed lunch with friends and neighbors at the Harrison Senior Dining and Activities Center of Harrison. Barb was a gardener, artist, dancer, and seamstress. She was an avid Bridge player, and enjoyed being outdoors, walking, hiking, swimming, boating, spending time with her family, and spoiling her dogs.
Surviving Mrs. Myers are her three loving daughters: Patricia Kardia, Michele Myers and Stephanie Wagoner and husband Gordon, five grandchildren: Gabriel Kardia, Heather Duke, Brittney Thoele, Emily Milliken and husband Trevor and Andrea Wagoner and husband Matt Baldwin, two siblings: Phyllis Pagacz and Ron Koblick and wife Darlene, plus numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and her beloved fur baby, Peaches. She also leaves behind Don Groch, her friend, bridge partner, and lighthousing companion. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Delores Freiberg.
