Obituary for Barbara Ann Smith (White)
Barbara A. Smith of Harrison, MI died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of October 30, 2023.
Barbara was the third daughter of the late Tommie L. White Sr. And Evelena White of North Carolina. Barbara was born on September 14, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. She and her family moved to Lansing, MI in the early 1960's. She graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in 1970 and majored in Business. She married Karl F. Smith on May 25,1974. Together they raised their nephew Brandon. She retired from the State of Michigan in the accounting department after some 20 years. She was a hard and conscientious worker.
Barbara was truly a very zealous servant of Jehovah having dedicated her life to him and baptized on September 9, 1969. She certainly had the 'pioneer spirit' engaging in this precious work for many years right up to her death. A special joy dear to her heart was working with her family in 'unassigned territories!'
Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters Brenda Jean, Alice and her brother Woodrow.
She is survived by her sister Vernisha R. Jerrels, her brother Tom L.White (Esther), her sister-in-law Irene; neice Allesha Morris, nephews Woodie, Reggie, Darius, Andrew, Stephen; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many
other family and friends.
She will certainly be missed by so many loving family members and dear friends.
