Bethia “Beth” Diane Wood, 83, of Harrison, MI passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Horizon’s
Senior Living -Gladwin, under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Beth as those close to her knew her best as, was born on February 5, 1939, in Manton, MI the daughter
of Vernie and Bernice (Austin) Hose. Beth was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Wood on
April 2, 1957. Beth for the most part was a stay at home mother; which she adored, but she also shared
in taking pride in cleaning homes for a living which she did even into her 70’s. Her house was always
spotless and she enjoyed in doing the same for others. Beth also cherished her grandchildren and she
treasured her time she spend spoiling them almost as much as telling others how much her
grandchildren meant to her. As a mother and grandmother she enjoyed doting over her family; she had
a love for food; always wanted to cook for them and a great cook she was and she knew she was too.
She loved to make a fuss as she would say and set the table with her best tablecloth and dishes while
cooking the foods her family loved to eat. You never left her house hungry, without either a meal or a
treat as she loved to bake often for not only her husband and family, but anyone she thought might
need a pie or some cookies. Beth also craved to be outdoors; she definitely had a green thumb and it
showed. She always looked forward to springtime and getting ready for flower season as she would say;
she had beautiful flowers everywhere you could see and her gardens thrived from her love she showed
for them. Beth was also a devoted member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall of Gladwin, MI. She
enjoyed in sharing with others the future hope of God’s Kingdom; where one day there will be no more
death, pain or suffering. She also loved sharing with other that God would soon through the
resurrection hope bring back her loved ones to life that she lost over the years in death including her
parents, siblings and friends.
Beth is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gary Wood; 4 children, Nadeene (Robert) Clater, Randy
Wood, Brook (Kimberly) Wood, and Tonya (Craig) Atwell. 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren;
sister Donna Rodabaugh; bother; Terry (Maxine) Hose and many nieces and nephews.
Beth was proceeded in death by her parents; brother; Richard Hose; sister; Elain Loomis.
