Obituary for Billy Duane Lane

Billy Duane Lane 71 of Riverdale, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 12, 2021. Billy was born November 16, 1949 in Gladwin, Michigan the son of James H. Lane and Jean Ann (Knapp) Lane. Billy graduated from Carrollton High School, Saginaw, Michigan in 1967. Upon graduating high school, Mr. Lane honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Billy studied at Lansing Community College after returning from Vietnam. Mr. Lane was united in marriage to Ms. Carol P. Jervis on October 30, 1989.
Billy had resided in Riverdale since 1989. He was a welder by trade, retiring in 2009 from Fussell Manufacturing in Morrow, GA. Billy loved hunting and fishing.
Surviving Billy is his loving wife of 31 ½ years Mrs. Carol P. Jervis of Riverdale, one daughter, Michelle Mullin and husband Dale, one son, William Halstead, his mother, Jean Ann Lane of Harrison, three grandchildren: Mitchell McCormick and wife Kellie, Emily Mullin and Sky Halstead, four step-grandchildren: Erika Mullin, Ryan Mullin, Lexi Mullin and Benjamin Mullin of Bedford, VA, Great-Granddaughter, Lilyana Trujillo of Tucson, AZ, one niece, Roberta “Robbie” Lane of Coleman, great-nephew, Travis Lane of Coleman,, and cousin, Doris “Dodo” Doherty of Midland and cousin Betty Norris of Harrison, MI. Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Larry James Lane.
Funeral services and military honors for Mr. Lane will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Blackwell officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Arthur Township Cemetery, Clare, Michigan.
