SCHROCK, BONNIE JEAN, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, January 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born in Weidman, Michigan, the youngest child of Myron J. and Jessie M. (Johnson) Tupper.
Bonnie began her school years at Weidman Elementary then attended Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1951.
Bonnie was an extremely dedicated worker, often juggling multiple jobs to support her family. She enjoyed working at Falsetta’s Casa Nova and The Mt. Pleasant Center before starting her home daycare business in 1970, retiring after 40 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her daycare families, and many have remained in touch, always brightening her days.
Bonnie was known for her delicious Sunday dinners and festive holiday gatherings. She enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, keeping up on current events and solving word puzzles.
Bonnie’s joy was flowers and planning annual expansion of her gardens. She spent winter months drawing plans, ordering new bulbs and plants, totally oblivious to the pleas of her gardening grandchildren……” Grandma, there’s no more room!”
Bonnie was loving, supportive and generous to those she held dear. Always a mother, grandmother, and aunt to be counted on, whatever the occasion she was staunchly there for all. She is greatly loved, and sorely missed. A piece of our hearts is forever with her.
Bonnie is survived by daughters: Judy McCrackin, Connie Latham, Debora Parnell; children by marriage, Bruce (Sandra) Schrock, Marcia Collins; daughters of her heart, Lynn Onstott, Vicki Sherry, Rene Gould; beloved grandchildren, Justin Hatt, Benjamin Hatt, Chris Latham, Cathy (Hugh) Denman, Lauren Parnell, Emily Parnell, Gage McCrackin, David Schrock, Katelin (Nate) Dennis, Stephanie (Matt) Koshay, Shannon Collins; great-grandchildren Jerome, Jonah, Griffin, Dylan, Seth, and Cyril Hatt, Cheyenne Denman, Austin Denman, Jael, Owen, and Jane Koshay; Percy Dennis, Quincy Dennis.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Jessie Tupper; husband Kenneth Ray Schrock; siblings, Marvel Sowle, Dorothy Sowle, Dorothea Crowley, Lina Livingston, Ethel Darnell, Dale, Ernie, and Kenneth Tupper; sons-in-law Kevin Collins, Michael McCrackin; best friend Joann Ellis; great niece Michelle Onstott; and beautiful granddaughter Angela Schrock.
The family thanks Promedica Hospice for their kindness and care.
