Obituary for Bradley V. Sias

Mt. Pleasant sadly lost a member of our community on Sunday, October 11,2020 when Bradley V. Sias passed away due to complications from a recent surgery. Brad was born to Keith V. Sias and Anna Lee “Peg” (Bruce) Sias on August 5, 1951.

Brad was a kind and gentle soul. He loved to talk about anything with anyone, often having regular conversations with cashiers at food stores and with the staff at the drug stores. His knowledge was so vast he could recite many facts on many subjects. He wouldn’t argue because he knew when he was right and that was enough for him. He was well read and could intelligently converse about most any subject and his recall was excellent on what he would call useless trivia.

Brad also had a love and passion for gardening, tending to many varieties of plants and often sharing his knowledge with anyone. He designed and maintained a large (multi-bed) garden for his good friend Kathleen. This kept him constantly busy. He held a landscape architect degree but did not pursue that professionally. His many talents also extended to interior design. He designed and remodeled many kitchens and bathrooms. Early on, one of his many talents was showcased in the expertise of his tailoring. He hand tailored most of all of his own suits. He sewed many formal dance dresses for his sister and lovingly designed and sewed a beautiful wedding dress for his eldest niece. There was very little Brad couldn’t do or create on an artistic level.

Brad is survived by three siblings, Kris (Jim) Lyon of Alma, Doug (Shelli) Sias of Mt. Pleasant and Becky (Dave) Gilbert of Mt. Pleasant.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Kevin J (fiancé Magen Davidson) Lyon of Alma, Michelle (Aaron) Edwards of Alma, Dana Lyon (Eliseo Guerrero) of Lansing, Emily (Tristan) Wilson of Kalamazoo, Elena Sias of Portland, Oregon, Nicholas (Michelle) Haggart of Elkhart, Indiana, Jessica Haggart of Mt. Pleasant; along with many great nieces and nephews, Rome Guerrero, Keith Lyon, Sidney Lyon, Nolan Davidson, Mallory Edwards, Adrianna Lyon, Eliseo Guerrero, Effie Wilson, Phoebe Wilson, Brayden Haggart, and Kaleb Haggart.

His parents Si and Peg preceded him in death as well as a niece Julia Sias.

Brad has chosen to be cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Community Soup Kitchen.
