Obituary for Candace Emelie Kohagen
KOHAGEN, CANDACE EMELIE, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at McLaren Central Michigan.
Private Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Candace was born July 25, 1948, in Lansing, Micigan, the daughter of John and Emelie (Hultberg) Peterson. She was a graduate of Bath High School with the Class of 1966. She and Dale Kohagen were married October 17, 1970, in Pewamo, Michigan. Candace owned and operated her daycare from 1980-2004. She then worked as a cook at Fancher Elementary School. Candace loved her daycare kids. It brought her great joy watching them grow up through the years and stayed in touch with most of them. Most of all, she cherished her family and loved being a mother and grandmother.
Candace is survived by her husband Dale Kohagen; daughter Kristina (Ted) Campbell of Wixom; grandchildren Ashlyn and Nicholas; and brother Roger (Sheryl) Peterson of Harrison.
Candace was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jack (Norma) Peterson; sisters Marilyn (Maynard) Markham and Norma (Ken) Munson.
