Obituary for Carl Roy Sanford-Pelcher

Carl Roy Sanford-Pelcher walked and played here with us for 68 years spreading joy and kindness. His bright light and thunderous sense of humor will continue to shape the many lives he touched and influence future generations. He made beautiful art and loved to garden and travel. He will be particularly remembered by his four-legged companion Pam.

His mother Mildred (Pamp) Pelcher, his father Clinton Pelcher Sr., sister Phoebe Pamptopee Sickal-Desmet, brother John Pelcher, father-in-law Robert Sanford, sister-in-law Linda Joy Sanford and several nieces and nephews have walked on before him and now hold him and smile.

He is survived by his husband Mark Sanford-Pelcher, brothers Clinton (Honey) Pelcher Jr, Steven (Susan) Pelcher, Milton “Beaver” (Marcia) Pelcher, Earl (Mary) Pelcher, mother-in-law Elizabeth Sanford, sister-in-law Gwendolyn Sanford, brother-in-law Bob (Nancy) Sanford and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful to Carl’s Tribe (Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan) for their support as well as to the NHBP and Gun Lake Tribal clinics for their services. Spectrum Health Palliative Care, Hospice and Neurology did much to ease his loss and pain from Multiple System Atrophy.
