Obituary for Carla Williams

"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

Carla Williams, age 74 of Mt. Pleasant, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 12, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor this spring.

Carla was born March 14, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, MI, the daughter of Carl and Georgia (Smith) Kreiner. Carla was one of seven children. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and Mid-Michigan Community College, where she earned her degree as an LPN in 1974 and an RN in 1979. Carla worked for Central Michigan Community Hospital for 38 years, from 1974 to 2012, when she retired.

Life's greatest treasure is to love and be loved. There was no shortage of love being given or received in Carla's life. She loved her family and friends, and they loved her back. Carla's love and care for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were endless. Carla cherished her family as they did her. She was the biggest supporter in all of our hopes, dreams, and aspirations; anything we chose to do. Every emotion we felt towards something she shared with us. Carla has blessed us with a lifetime of special memories and unconditional love. Carla enjoyed the simple things in life, flower gardening, reading a novel, a good game of Scrabble, a hot cup of coffee, sharing a meal with friends and family, traveling the states, dancing and singing, and music. She felt music deep in her soul. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family. She will forever have a very special place in all of our hearts.

Carla is survived by her children, Scott (Patty) Williams of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Lisa Goffnett of Rosebush, MI, Ben (Gene) Williams of Mt. Pleasant, MI; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Georgia Kreiner; brother Chris Kreiner and brother Randy Kreiner.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug the ones you love, watch the sunset, smell the flowers, go to the beach, or take a walk in the woods. Enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Time waits for no one.
