Obituary for Carol Elizabeth Manio

Carol Elizabeth Manio, 78, of Mt. Pleasant Michigan died Saturday, April 10, 2021 at McLaren Hospital of Mt. Pleasant.

Carol was born to Carl and Elizabeth Hosfelt and raised in Wyandotte, MI. Carol is survived by her two daughters, Laurel Kobisz, and Suzi Rosen (Kobisz), both currently residing in Mt. Pleasant. Carol lived in Southern California for many years before returning to Mt. Pleasant in her retirement. Carol spent her career working in retail, managing and training and leading fashion shows at various department stores like May Company, Ikea, and Draper’s & Damon’s; and was on the team that opened up the JC Penny in Mt. Pleasant. Carol continued to work as a volunteer in her retirement, first at the Laguna Niguel Hospital in California where she was Volunteer of the Year many times, followed by the annual Detroit Marathon and later as a Foster Grandmother in Mt. Pleasant where she loved being with the children. Carol appreciated music, fashion, big cities, traveling, being at the ocean, and having the longest legs of the ladies’ kick line for the Mt Pleasant High Fever Follies:). Carol was known for her love of life, her sense of humor, her care of her daughters and her various rescue cats over the years, and foremost, her ability to make wonderful friends wherever she was.

A service is planned for Carol on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel, followed by a Memorial Luncheon at Cheers. Memorial donations may be made to H.A.T.S. (Isabella County Humane Animal Treatment Society). Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
