Obituary for Carolyn Cora Fancher (Harris)
Carolyn Cora Fancher age 87 of Barryton, Michigan passed away at her home on Friday, November 24, 2023. Carolyn was born September 27, 1936 in Barryton, Michigan the daughter of Ervin Harris and Florence (Kinney) Harris. Carolyn graduated from Barryton High School in 1954.
Carolyn had resided in Barryton since 2017, moving from Harrison and previously had resided in Kalkaska, Michigan. She was an avid golfer and was considered by many of her golfing partners as a competitive golfer. She also enjoyed crocheting, dotting art, cooking, feeding her wild birds and loved her pet cats.
Surviving Carolyn are her two sons; Alan Brown of Laingsburg, Michigan and Richard Brown and wife April of Dimondale, Michigan, five adored grandchildren; Angie McMahon and husband Joe of Glendale, Arizona, Kati Rose and husband Mike of Laingsburg, Nick Brown and wife Katie of Lenexa, Kansas, Mindy Wise and husband Jim of Holt, Michigan and Bailen Brown of Dimondale, ten great-grandchildren, two sisters; Wyona Rose of Howard City, Michigan and Jerilyn Butts and husband Terry of Barryton, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and long-time companion, Ward Thompson.
A Celebration of Life gathering honoring Carolyn will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Barryton Senior Center, 71 Northern Center, Barryton, Michigan, 49305. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Branch, Michigan.
