Obituary for Carrie Ruth Smith
SMITH, CARRIE RUTH, age 56, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot.
A Memorial Service for Carrie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on the day of the service beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Homes, 600 Hoffmann Drive, Watertown, WI 53094. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Carrie was born on June 2, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Orlie and Helen Carrie (Gadient) Smith. Carrie adored babies and all animals. She loved music, going to concerts, shopping, and dressing up. Carrie enjoyed her jobs with MMI.
Carrie is survived by her mother Helen Smith of Saginaw Township; brother Christopher Smith of Birch Run; sister Sarah (David) Cook of Hillsboro, MO; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carrie loved her many special caretakers and her friends at home and at MMI. Their selfless and genuine compassion will always be cherished.
Carrie was preceded in death by her father Charles Orlie Smith and her brother Matthew David Smith.
