HAMMOND, CHARLES JUNIOR, age 83, of St. Louis, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.
Per his wishes, Charles has been cremated.
Charles was born November 1, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Charles and Lyla (Mitchell) Hammond. He married Vina Mae (Howard) on March 19, 1988. Charles loved guns and hunting. He was a great man who loved helping people, and most of all time spent with his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mae Hammond of St. Louis; children Cindy (Terry) Hector of Sumner, Laurie Switzer of Sidney, Jennifer (Jim) Lyon of Ithaca, Todd Leslie of North Carolina, Scott Leslie of Florida; stepdaughter Amy Burnell of Alma; and stepson Russell Burnell of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and sisters Marie (Ron) Piper and Betty (Bob) Vanderzee.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene Hammond.
