Obituary for Charlotte Rose Summers (Guilds)
Charlotte Rose Summers 91 of Port Huron, Michigan, formerly of Harrison passed away peacefully Sunday, August 23, 2020. Charlotte was born January 15, 1929 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Merritt Guilds and Vanilla Rose (Burby) Guilds. Charlotte was united in marriage to Mr. Robert L. Summers on August 26, 1948 in Pontiac, Michigan. Mr. Summers preceded Charlotte in death on September 29, 2002 after fifty-four years of marriage.
Mrs. Summers was a lifetime member of the Harrison Sportsmans Club, a member of the American Legion Post 404 Ladies Auxiliary, Harrison Lioness Club, Clare County Crazy Quilters and Harrison Women of the Moose.
Surviving Mrs. Summers are her four daughters; Charlene Gauthier and husband Dale Gauthier Jr. of Grayling, Michigan, Susan Lynch of Hartland, Michigan, Barbara Summers of Gladwin, Michigan and Debbie Grasso and husband Pat of Allenton, Michigan, six sons; Robert “Bob” Summers and wife Shirley of Escondido, California, Ricky Summers and wife LuAnn of Lake Orion, Michigan, Michael Summers and wife Ruth of Pontiac, Michigan, Jeff Summers and wife Robin of Alanson, Michigan and Ronald Summers and wife Donna of Harrison, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Summers also was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Leslie “Douglas” Summers, one son in-law, Dave Lynch, three sisters; Marie, Nellie and Jean and one brother, Donald.
Graveside services for Mrs. Summers will be held Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Visitation will be limited to ten visitors at a time, due to limitations in following COVID-19 guidelines.
