Obituary for Cheryl Joy Bass

BASS, CHERYL JOY, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Cheryl will take place at Potter’s House Family Worship Center on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Ives officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at Potter’s House fellowship hall. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Cheryl was born August 16, 1951, in Alma, Michigan, the daughter of William and Esther (Myers) Minser. She worked for the RESD as a paraprofessional for 30 years. She was a faithful member of Potter’s House Family Worship Center; she was active with the jail ministry for 15 years. Cheryl was a devoted prayer warrior, avid reader, and social butterfly. She loved her grandkids, traveling, laughter, and game nights. Cheryl really enjoyed sharing her real life Aunt Clara stories.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Gene (Carrie) Bass, Jr. of Clare, Jason Bass of Grawn, Jody (Danielle) Bass of Shepherd; grandchildren, Sarah, Shelby, Cody (Nikota), Abby, Hannah, Olivia, Camieo, Wyatt, Owen, Brennan, and Kailin; and brother-in-law Richard Roberson of Sumner.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Norman and Jack Minser; and sisters Josephine Helms, Verga Rasmussen, Margurite Palmer; Iris Murdock, and Janice Roberson.
