CHERYL LYNN WEEKLEY, age 69, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, with her daughter and Pup by her side.
Cheryl was born in Shiawassee County, February 22, 1953, the daughter of Floyd and Helen Cole. She was a graduate of Durand High School. Cheryl worked in the sales department for Krapohl Ford for 29 years where she was awarded top salesperson by her faithful customers and loved the relationships she built with them. Cheryl had many passions, at the top of her list were her grandchildren. She loved to watch them perform, whether it be acting in a play, volunteering for the church or community, cheerleading and football. Cheryl also had a love for the water. Cheryl looked forward to her annual canoe trips with her Durand friends on the AuSable River as well as with her Krapohl Ford friends on the Chippewa River. Cheryl spent many summers on Indian River and later purchased her own lake home on Lake 13 in Farwell in 2005, where she made many friends and loved to entertain with her family. Cheryl also volunteered as a green coat ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce and the Broadway Theatre as well as countless community events.
Cheryl is survived by her daughter Betsy Weekley of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Devin Weekley-Dean, Alexandria Weekley-Dean, Kayden Weekley-Dean, all of Mt. Pleasant; stepchildren Dawn (Steve) Whitaker of Eaton Rapids, Rodney (Kimberlie) Weekley of Muskwgo, WI, Chris (Raquel) Weekley of Shepherd; several step grandchildren; and brother Ray (Joanne) Bizoe of Maryland.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; brother Tom; sister Linda; and a niece Chelsea.
A Memorial Service for Cheryl will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Dave Shephard officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Sunday, January 22 from 2 – 5 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation or Broadway Theatre. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
