Obituary for Christopher Jay Root
ROOT, CHRISTOPHER JAY, age 64, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Per Chris' wishes, there will be no services at this time.
Chris was born on December 15, 1954, in Durand, the son of Charles and Shirley Root. Chris proudly served his country in the United States Army and Navy. He married Tina Grandchamp and the two of them shared 37 years together. Chris loved music, playing guitar, piano, drums, sang, and wrote songs. He played with several different bands throughout the years.
Chris is survived by his wife, Tina; twin sons, Levon and Evan Root; daughter, Heidi (Steve) Brown; 3 grandchildren; siblings, Steve (Linda) Root, Fred (Angela) Root, Randy (Kim) Root, Jim (Kathy) Pierman, Blake Pierman, and Eric (Geri) Root; several in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Charles Root in February.
