Obituary for Constance Esch "Connie" Methner

Constance “Connie” Methner (Esch), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.

Connie was born on November 16, 1929, in Broomfield Township, to Floyd Percy and Maggie “Lorna” Mae (Capen) Esch. She graduated from Remus High School in 1947. Following graduation, she and Modred "Chum” Methner were married. Together they had four children and raised them on their family farm near Blanchard, Michigan. Connie was an entrepreneur and avid gardener. As such, she ran her own successful small business, Methner's Three Seasons, for many years. Through this work she grew and sold perennials, designed gardens, and created wreaths, grave blankets, and other assorted floral arrangements. She took great pride in her work, and had an incredible passion for it. Many of her customers grew to become dear friends as she freely shared her knowledge and love of plants.

In addition to her strong work ethic, Connie had a deep love for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was always open to anyone and her friendly and caring demeanor touched many lives.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, and daughter Fonda Alwood. She is survived by three of her children: Eric (Cathy) Methner, Tam (Bill) Dixon, and Brenda (Jay) Huber. Also, she is survived by eight grandchildren: Heather Parsons, Jill Personett, Todd Alwood, Matthew Alwood, Jennifer Parker, Jamie Huber, Zachary Dixon, and Kyle Dixon, as well as five great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, private services are to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please add a plant to your own home or garden in memory of Connie.
