Obituary for Cristy Lynn Sprague
SPRAGUE, CRISTY LYNN, age 70, of Weidman, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at My Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Midland.
Cristy was born July 7, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Donald and Mary Jo (Machuta) Wilson. Cristy married the love of her life Steven Gary Sprague, January 20, 1973, in Mt. Pleasant. She was the first female journeyman carpenter at CMU where she worked for 24 years, retiring in 2002. Cristy was a true, faithful follower of Jesus Christ; she was a member of Weidman United Methodist Church. She adored her children and grandchildren and time spent with them. When she wasn’t spending time with family, Cristy enjoyed gardening, quilting, and woodworking.
Cristy is survived by her husband Steven; mother Mary Jo Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Jamie (David) Holland of Springfield, MO; son Kevin (Jesika) Sprague of Grand Rapids; special family members Amy Selles and her two sons Gunner and Rugar; grandchildren Connor Holland, Caleb Sprague, Joshua Sprague; brothers Gary (Kay) Wilson of Midland, Steve (Linda) Wilson, Dave (Diane) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Tim Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Sam (Ginger) Wilson of Remus, Ted (Vicki) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; sister Kathy (Ken) Kalil of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.
Cristy was preceded in death by her father; infant son Joey; sister-in-law Jayne Wilson; and nephew Zachery Wilson.
A Memorial Service for Cristy will be held at Weidman United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cindi Greene officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Weidman United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
