Obituary for Daniel Patrick Coumans

Daniel Coumans Sr. “Old Dan” to his friends passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center – Gladwin. Daniel was born December 2, 1930 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of William H. Coumans and Gertrude (Spitzig) Coumans.
Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army and served in active duty during the Korean Conflict going over there in 1951. On September 12, 1953 Daniel married his wife Dorothy and they had four daughters and one son. Daniel worked many years as a mechanic. Mr. Coumans moved to Leota over 20 years ago from Chesterfield Township, Michigan. Daniel liked bird watching, and old western shows on tv. He enjoyed hunting and hanging around with the guys especially during deer season. “Old Dan” really liked his beer and was a “staple” at the Riverside Bar (now Trail’s End Pub) in Leota for many years. Daniel was a good man and will be missed.
Per Daniel’s wishes there will be no memorial services held. Daniel will be laid to rest with his loving wife at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mount Clemens, Michigan.
