Obituary for Darlene Ruth Coffell
COFFELL, DARLENE RUTH, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, went home to be with Jesus her Savior on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Darlene will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. At a later date, ashes will be interred at North Star Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pardee Cancer Fund, Heartland Hospice, or Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Darlene was born September 1, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Donald and Hilma (Hiffner) Lorenz. She was an LPN for many years. Darlene retired from Mt. Pleasant Regional Home in 1980. She loved her nursing job taking care of others. Singing duets with her mom and sister and being the cookie baker were some of her favorite pastimes. Darlene was responsible for petitioning the city to place Pedestrian Right of Way signs. Darlene liked playing Scrabble, working jigsaw and word-search puzzles, crocheting, and loved her animals, especially cats and horses.
Darlene is survived by her mother Hilma Lorenz of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Daniel Henry (Shari) Lorenz, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, David Carl (Ronda) Lorenz, both of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law Sandra Lorenz of Midland; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father Donald Nicholas Lorenz, Sr.; brother Donald Nicholas Lorenz, Jr.; sister Donita Maxine Stratton; brother-in-law Eldon Stratton.
The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant.
