Obituary for Darrell Robert VanPamel
Darrell Robert VanPamel 55 of Saint Helen, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Darrell was born April 24, 1965 in Madison Heights, Michigan the son of Robert Cyriel VanPamel and Carole Jean (Husken) VanPamel. Darrell graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1984. He had resided in Saint Helen for several years, moving back from Florida.
Mr. VanPamel was a financial advisor for many years, a career he was very passionate about. Darrell was strong willed and a very determined man. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, trapping, trail riding, camping and boating. Darrell loved life, always living it to the fullest. He loved his family and equally was loved by them.
Darrell is survived by two loving sisters; Laura (Hunter) Mayes of Houghton Lake and Brenda Thompson and husband John “JT” Thompson of Houghton Lake, many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and his beloved cat, Kitty. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Allen Hunter.
Private family Celebration of Life services honoring Darrell will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.
