Obituary for David Leo Janetski

JANETSKI, DAVID LEO, age 76, of Clare, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland.

There will be a private family memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Dave’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or Sisters of Our Mother of Divine Grace, St. Mary’s Convent, 7066 Main Street, Port Sanilac, MI 48469. Cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill in Mt. Pleasant.

Dave was born in Midland, Michigan, on November 29, 1945, the son of Stephen and Luella (Einwachter) Janetski. He married Jacqueline Inman on October 28, 1983. Dave was a master mechanic who, in November of 1985, opened DJ’s Automotive Center in Mt. Pleasant. DJ’s has always been and continues to be a family-owned and operated Automotive Repair Shop. He loved his farming and his IH tractors. Dave could be found riding his dirt bike or snowmobile with friends in his younger years. He loved family gatherings and being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Old Western Movies and “Real” country music of the 40s, 50s, and 60s were some of Dave’s favorite things. He was an avid supporter of the NRA. Dave enjoyed traveling with his wife Jackie and his father-in-law Joe Inman.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jackie Janetski; children Steven (Jessica) Janetski of Clare, Josef (Bethany) Janetski of Clare, Laura (Charlie) Moore of Vestaburg, Lisa Janetski (Kurt Sonoras) of Midland, Amanda (Jason) Hacker of Oklahoma City, OK, Sr. Maria Gabrielle (aka Linda Janetski) of Port Sanilac; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Chuck (Julie) Inman of Montrose, Gary Piegols of Freeland; sister-in-law Lori (Chuck) Capron of Ojai, CA; and many other extended family members.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stephen and James; parents-in-law Joe and Florence Inman; and sisters-in-law Diana Piegols and Gloria (Doug) Wagener.
