Obituary for David Lawrence Phillips
PHILLIPS, DAVID LAWRENCE, age 67, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at his home.
A Memorial Service for Dave will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will immediately follow at Reflections Reception Center.
Dave was born July 28, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Rodney Phillips and Betty (Yuncker) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1974. Dave had been employed for the past 35 years at Delfield in Mt. Pleasant. He loved exercising, riding his mountain bike, and taking walks. Dave liked sports, especially watching the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. His family meant everything to him, and he loved the time spent with them.
Dave is survived by his son David Phillips (Jessica Downs) of Ferndale; daughter Samantha (Jeremy) Martin of Bannister; grandchildren Daniel Gordon, Michael Gordon, Talan Jones, Natalie Martin; great grandson Hayden Gordon; stepfather William Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Ronald Phillips and Doug (Mary) Phillips, all of Mt. Pleasant.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Rock Phillips and Brian Kennedy.
