Obituary for Deborah Joyce Lerma
LERMA, DEBORAH JOYCE, age 68, of Rosebush, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.
Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial service will be held on June 5, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Isabella Township Park in the enclosed pavilion. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Deborah was born September 3, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gibson and Ada (Tobias) Wheatley. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. Deborah had worked as a pit boss at Soaring Eagle Casino before retiring. She married Phillip Lerma on April 27, 2012, in Las Vegas. Deborah enjoyed attending pow-wows, spending time with her friends, and was dedicated to her cooking shows and HGTV. She loved family time at the cabin and taking casino trips with her husband Phillip.
Deborah is survived by her husband Phillip Lerma of Rosebush; daughters Trina Arreguin of Sunfield, Pamela Renzi of Mt. Pleasant; stepchildren Mark Wheatley, Chris Lerma, Erik Lerma, Robert Lerma, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Siera, Denee`, Jasmine, Colin, Demetrius; several step grandchildren; great-grandchildren Blayke, Leela, Tegan, Kennedy; brothers Bill (Olivia) Wheatley of Florida, Louis (Andrea) Wheatly of Romulus; and several nieces and nephews.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; sister Peggy Lerma; and stepdaughter Terri Lerma.
