Debra Lynn Recker
May 24, 1958 – November 10, 2023
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Debra Lynn Recker, age 65, of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family, on November 10, 2023, at Green Acres, after a courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.
Per Deb’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Deb may be made to the Care Team Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Deb was born on May 24, 1958, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (McCoy) Ash. She married the love of her life, Rich Recker on June 1st, 1977, at the United Methodist Church of Weidman. Deb deeply touched all that knew her with her generous and compassionate nature. Many would say that she lit up every room that she entered with her infectious laugh and smile. There are no words to express how greatly Deb will be missed by her family and friends.
Prior to her illness, Deb was always up for an adventure, traveling to new places, shopping for that next vintage treasure, and all the cherished summers spent swimming in her pool with her family. She loved decorating her indoor and outdoor spaces and putting family meals together.
Deb was incredibly proud of being a “Nana”. She never missed her grandchildren’s school or sporting event.
Deb was known as being an incredible administrator at Margaret’s Meadows. She dedicated her life with a career caring for those suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Deb started the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Isabella County. She had a passion for helping and volunteered at the Commission on Aging and the Isabella County Medical Care Facility Adult Day Care Program. Deb was an excellent wife, mother, and nana. Her style and grace have been passed down to their children and grandchildren.
Deb is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rich; children, Jason Recker, of Mt. Pleasant, Amber (Josh) Bay, of Lake, and Rachel (Matt) Tilmann, of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Jacob Recker, Connor Tilmann and Sophia Tilmann.
Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ash; aunt, Virginia Ackerman; uncle, John McCoy; and grandparents, Harry and Thelma McCoy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Green Acres and CareTeam Hospice for all of the wonderful care they provided.
