Obituary for Delbert George Heistand
Heistand, Delbert George, age 90, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Stone Lodge Memory Care in Shepherd.
Delbert was born on March 26, 1930, in Flint, the son of George Jake and Beatrice (Carter) Heistand. He married Joyce Elma Kappler, and they were married for over 65 years before her death on October 19, 2013. Delbert worked as an autoworker for GM Oldsmobile for 35 years.
Delbert is survived by his two children, son Michael Heistand and significant other Hope Ryckman of Mt. Pleasant and daughter Cindy Heistand of Dewitt.
A Private Graveside Service will take place in Chippewa Township Cemetery. Friends and relatives are welcome to join the family for a Memorial Gathering at Michael’s home, 2820 S. Wise Road, Mt. Pleasant, on Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m.
