Obituary for Delores Elaine McQueen
McQUEEN, DELORES ELAINE, age 87, of Shepherd, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.
Funeral Services for Delores will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. Burial will follow at Green Cemetery in Isabella County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Fremont Township First Responders or Fremont Township Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Delores was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on October 27, 1934, the daughter of Merlin and Ida (Daley) Barnhart. She married Royal Dean McQueen on July 26, 1952, in Rosebush. She was a 4-H leader for 30 years in Isabella County. Delores loved to spend time with her grandchildren, crochet, fish, and feed the birds.
Delores is survived by her children Katherine (Gary) Leiter of Weidman, Marty (Jeff) VanBonn of Vestaburg, Gregory (Kelli) McQueen of Riverdale, Kirk (Brandy) McQueen of Shepherd; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband Royal; sister Evelyn Allen; and brother Stanley Barnhart.
