Delvin Carl Shorts, age 64, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018.

A Memorial Service for Delvin will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 24, at 1 p.m. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Delvin was born on April 2, 1954, in Flint, the son of Melvin and Rosie (Jolly) Shorts. Delvin was a iron worker for many years, but his life long passion was music. He was a pro pedal steel player and lead guitar musician, playing for many bands, including famous artists. He loved building guitars and building his own instruments. Delvin was inducted into the Michigan's Country Music Hall of Fame and the United States Steel Guitar Players Association Hall of Fame.

Delvin is survived by his sons, Robert (Sarah) Shorts, Steven Shorts, and Nathan (Robin) Shorts; grandchildren, Christopher Shorts, Joshua Shorts, Katelynne Shorts, Olivia Shorts, Ella Shorts, Thomas Shorts, and Marie Shorts; siblings, Elva (Bruce) Dougherty and Melvin (Melissa) Shorts; and close friend, Linda Steffes.

Delvin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Gallagher.
