Obituary for Dennis Craig Wigren

WIGREN, DENNIS CRAIG, age 72, of Midland passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.

A Memorial Service for Dennis will be held at the American Legion Post #76, 318 N. James St., Ludington, MI, 49431, on Saturday, December 3, at 1 p.m. A light lunch will be provided. The family will receive friends at the American Legion from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Toys for Tots program in Mason County.

Dennis was born on June 13, 1944, in Ludington, the son of Earnest and Beatrice (Young) Wigren. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Western Michigan University and retired as a trainmaster from CSX Transportation after 30 years of service. Dennis was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons in Pere Marquette, Elf Kahureh Shrine, and a Knights Templar. He enjoyed fishing, deer and duck hunting, spending time with his children and grandchildren, teasing the crap out of his nieces and nephews, and loved his dogs. Dennis was a foul language enthusiast and one hell of a cribbage player.

Dennis is survived by his children, Mandy (Chad Hilts) Wigren of Mt. Pleasant, John Wigren of Detroit, Joseph (Jillian) Wigren of Midland, and Celeste (Eric Nash) Wigren of Muskegon; grandchildren, Drew Dube and Carly Nash, both of Muskegon, and Noah and Eliana Wigren, both of Midland.

Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wigren and sister, Leatrice Schmock.
