Obituary for Donald Eugene Andrews Jr.

ANDREWS, DONALD EUGENE, JR., age 64, of Shepherd, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at his home.

Funeral Services for Don will take place on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Don was born October 12, 1954, in Edmore, the son of Donald and Dolores (Bondie) Andrews, Sr. He attended Shepherd High School. Don married Sharon Pung on January 18, 1974, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Beal City. He worked for Ferro Manufacturing, where he met Sharon, then went to work for Alma Products and retired after 30 years. After retirement, Don worked for Johnson Garage and Riverwood Golf Course. He was one of the first members of Fremont Township Fire Department. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved spending time at Mallory’s cabin in the UP, and adored his dogs Zeb, Phoebe, Smoke, and Shelby.

Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Andrews; siblings Monte (Bev) Andrews, Debby Andrews, Kathy (Howie) Craven; sister-in-law Connie Andrews; Sharon’s siblings: Roberta (Greg) Tullis, Jan (Kevin) Schafer, Joe (Brenda) Pung, Katie (Matt) Galinski, Paul (Kelly) Pung, Ed (Monique) Pung, Adele Sheahan (Rob Slagell); 27 nieces and nephews; 28 great nieces and nephews; and special friends Bob and Dottie Johnson, Rob and Adam Johnson, John Mallory, Gary Winkleman, and Mark Skeith.

Don was preceded in death by his infant sons Phillip George and Mark Allen; parents Don and Dolores; brothers Mark, Michael, and Rick; and parents-in-law Robert and Mary Pung.
