PHELPS, DONALD LEE, age 83, of Barryton passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A Memorial Service for Don will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mecosta County Senior Center. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel
Don was born on March 3, 1937, son of Harold and Edith (Henry) Phelps. Don married Vienna "Jane" Berry in 1987. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He worked as a truck driver for General Motors for over 30 years. Don was an avid hunter and fisher, and enjoyed woodworking.
Don is survived by his wife, Jane Phelps; daughter, Darlene Forebeck; stepdaughters, Annette Stephens and Kaye Umbarger; grandchildren, Michael, Corey, WandaJo, Jason, Brooke, Aaron, and Meggin; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dean (Nancy) Phelps, Phil (Jan) Phelps, Denny Phelps and Ronnie Phelps; sisters, Kate (Gene) King and Pat Mullen; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Roy Cooper.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Dale Phelps; stepson, Duane Waldrop; parents; and best friend and hunting partner, Carl Harrington.
