Obituary for Donna Bell Turner
Turner, Donna Bell, age 95, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Mt. Pleasant Comfort Care.
A funeral service for Donna will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Steven Hoyle officiating. Interment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial donations may be made to New Life Church of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Donna was born on January 16, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Clare A. and Mattie B (Switzer) Ettinger. She graduated from Shepherd High School. Donna married the love of her life Lawrence Melvin Turner on October 12, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant MI. She worked for 11 years as a secretary at the Mt. Pleasant State Home, after its closing she became a homemaker. Donna is a proud member of; The New Life Church, Michigan State Employee Retirees Association, and the United Methodist Church in Houghton lake and Mission, Texas. Donna loved serving her church. She was very involved in the local boy and cub scouts. Donna had a passion for travel and was able to visit all of the United States, except Hawaii, and most of the Canadian provinces.
Donna is survived by daughter-in-law: Georgia J. Turner, of Belding; grandchildren: Christina M. Turner Russell L. (Amber) Turner and Malachi Turner, all of Belding; great-grandson: Russell Turner, Jr.; step great-granddaughter: Mila Bronson; sister: Betty Varga and sister-in-law: Geneva (James) Cornell of Northport.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Russell Lee Turner; brothers: Ivan P. (Doris) Ettinger and Gene E. (Louise) Ettinger; and in-laws: Eleanor Turner, Glen (LaVina) Turner, Marion Busse, Frank Varga, Dwayne (Edna) Turner and Vivian (Leo) Garver.
