Obituary for Donna Marie VanOrden
VANORDEN, DONNA MARIE, age 63, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
A Memorial Service for Donna will be held at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, 1400 W. Broomfield, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow at Chippewa Township Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at Mt. Pleasant VFW Post #3033. The family will receive friends on the day of the service beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Donna was born October 3, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Helen Haynes. She worked for MMI and Listening Ear. Donna was a loved member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church. She loved holidays, especially Christmas and dressing up in her costume for Halloween. Donna was a longtime participant of Area 7 Special Olympics where she proudly earned over 90 medals; she participated in any event that was offered. She loved crafts, especially diamond art, and making loom kit potholder gifts for all her family. Donna had a homemade card and soap business that she was very proud of. She liked animals of all kinds, bowling, camping, and playing Bingo. Donna was well known for her smile, her happiness, and her generosity. She will be tremendously missed by her entire family and community.
Donna is survived by her mother Helen Seeley of Mt. Pleasant; siblings Dennis (Michele) VanOrden of Mt. Pleasant, Denice (Bill) Corser of Winn, Jerry (Renee) VanOrden of Bad Axe, Clifford VanOrden of Mt. Pleasant, Brenda (Angelo) Martinez of Swartz Creek, Wendy (Darrin) Cook of Flint, Cindy (Jimmy) Seeley of Mt. Pleasant; and lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her grandma Mildred Haynes; sisters Tammy VanOrden and Teresa Ferris; and sister-in-law Sue VanOrden.
