DOUGLAS “SCOTT” MOORE, JR., AGE 52
Saginaw, Michigan
10/21/1968-1/15/2021
Scott died peacefully at home, after a short illness. He was born on October 21, 1968, to parents, Doug and Diane Moore, in Midland, Michigan.
Scott grew up and attended school in Breckenridge, Michigan, where he was active in band, cross country running, and drama club, graduating in 1986, and then enlisting in the Navy. He served aboard the submarine, USS Silversides, until 1990 when he was discharged. He had many stories about his life in the Navy.
After discharge from the Navy, he followed in his dad’s footsteps and began his career as a truck driver, operating a moving van, until his disability prevented him from working. He enjoyed his job moving people because of the opportunity to travel and meet many different types of people. He loved attending Nascar races when he was traveling, and watching them on TV. He enjoyed having busy work to do and spent a lot of time helping his mother with different projects.
Scott is survived by his mother, Diane Moore, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherri and Izzy Rodriguez of Alma, and Melissa and Josh Price of Gaylord, formerly Saginaw; nephews, Jonah Moore, Vicente Rodriguez, and Isaac Price. He was predeceased by his father, Douglas, in July 2016.
He is sadly missed, but now resting without pain until we will see him again in paradise. Because Romans 6:7 assures us, “the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin" we look forward to welcoming him back in the resurrection.
The family is planning a memorial service at a later date, when Covid is not a danger.
