Obituary for Edwin Charles Moe Jr.
MOE, EDWIN CHARLES, Jr., age 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. A Celebration of Ed's life be held at 11 a.m. on May 29, 2021 at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Ed was born on November 8, 1927, in Lansing, son of Edwin, Sr. and Ella (Haas) Moe. Ed graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1945. After graduating, Ed enlisted in the United States Air Corps and proudly served his country. After leaving the military, Ed married the love of his life, Roberta Jean Palmer on April 23, 1949 in Lansing. The Moe family moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1960. Ed worked many different jobs, owning a shoe store in Grandville from 1963 to 1968 and manager at Cartwright Shoe Store in Mt. Pleasant from 1969 to 1972. Beginning in 1973, Ed worked as a traveling shoe salesman for Tober Saifer and Viner Brothers. After leaving the shoe industry, Ed sold ads for the Buyers Guide from 1989 until 1992, when he began his work at Clines. Ed retired in 1995. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and the First United Methodist Church. Ed loved to spend time with his family and friends. Friends referred to him as a Gentleman of Gentleman.
Ed is survived by his daughters, Karen (David) Lewis of Mt. Pleasant and Kathryn Moe of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moe of Mt. Pleasant; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Roberta Jean Moe on September 9, 2001; son, Gary Edwin Moe on October 2, 2008; parents; and brother, David Moe on October 24, 2017.
