Obituary for Eleanor Clara Spohn

SPOHN, ELEANOR CLARA, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Pioneer Golden Estates in Clare.

Funeral Services for Eleanor will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Molyneux officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel the day of the service beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, or Mid-Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Eleanor was born June 3, 1932, in East Nantmeal, PA, the daughter of Frank, Sr. and Gertrude (Smith) Brannan. She graduated with the class of 1950 from North Coventry High School in Pennsylvania. She married Donald L. Spohn on October 12, 1956, in Pottstown, PA. Donald preceded her in death on August 21, 2018. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed music, reading, singing, bible study, working at the church, serving on committees, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

Eleanor is survived by her son David (Kathy) Spohn of Omena; daughter Lisa (Jeff) Poet of Clare; grandchildren Shaw (Katie) Stanley of Roscommon, Ashley (Bryan) Zak of Oak Park, IL, Alison (Jaime) Masters of Hyde Park, OH, Andrea Spohn of Detroit; great-grandchildren Darren, Joanna, Elliott, Gabrielle, Holly, Graham, Emma; sister-in-law Anna Spohn of Bethel, PA; and nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; brothers Frank Brannan, Jr., William (Rose) Brannan, Robert (Sandy) Brannan; sister Mary (LeRoy) Reitnauer; brother-in-law George Spohn.
