Obituary for Elizabeth E. Tschappat
TSCHAPPAT, ELIZABETH E., age 87, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.
Cremation has taken place. Per Liz’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Commission on Aging or Isabella Community Soup Kitchen. Envelopes are available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Liz was born November 3, 1933, in Isabella County, the daughter of John M. and Minnie (Gross) Schafer. She graduated from Beal City High School. Liz worked for Sport and Toy shop in Mt. Pleasant for several years, she retired from the Housekeeping Department at Mt. Pleasant Regional Center. Liz loved to crochet and donate stocking caps to charities over the years. She liked her word search puzzles and playing cards. Liz and Andy loved traveling and enjoying winters in Florida. They also liked spending time at their place at Jehnsen Lake.
Liz is survived by her brothers, Steve (Janet) Schafer and Harry Schafer (Paula Clagett) both of Weidman; brother-in-law Bill Tschappat of Mt. Pleasant, sister-in-law Enid Schafer of Weidman; and many nieces and nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Gertrude Keusch and RoseAnn Schafer; and her brother Thomas Schafer.
