Obituary for Elizabeth Jean Vogel

Elizabeth Jean Vogel (Paisley), age 99, of Rosebush, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

A Funeral Mass for Elizabeth will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023, at Our Lady of Hope Clare, with Monsignor Francis Koper as celebrant. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to Mass. Following the Mass, a luncheon will be served at the church. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Saint Henry’s Catholic Cemetery of Rosebush. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope of Clare or Heartland ProMedica Hospice of Bay City. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Elizabeth was born November 28, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Arthur and Sadie (Elliott) Paisley. She married Robert Vogel on January 9, 1943, St. Philomena Catholic Church of Beal City. She was a member of St. Henry’s Parish and then of Our Lady of Hope. Elizabeth loved to crochet and will be remembered for her beautiful seamstressing talent. Most of all Elizabeth loved her many travels with her husband Robert.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Robert Vogel Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Judy (Ed) Geroux of Lake, Sheila (Frank) Schrot of Shepherd, Leila (Mark) Vogel-Evans of Mt. Pleasant, Connie (Mike) Wudyka of St. Louis, Tammy (Cliff Winkler) Gruss of Beal City, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers: Dick (Mary) Paisley of Gladwin, Don Paisley of Beal City, sisters: Joann Pung of Mt. Pleasant, Pauline Schafer of Beal City, sisters-in-law, Alice Paisley, Rita Vogel, and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert Vogel, daughter-in-law: Sandra Vogel, brother: Art Paisley, sisters: Norma (August) Frick, Helen (Orville) Riggle, Virginia Bisbee and husbands: Ernie Neff and O. Bisbee, sister-in-law Anna Marie (Otto) Frick, brothers-in-law: Milfred (Joyce) Vogel, Gerald Vogel, Edward (Betty) Vogel and Melvin Schafer.
