Obituary for Elliott Duane "Butch" Brackett

Brackett, Elliott Duane “Butch”, age 80, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home.

Services for Elliott will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Debbie Yencer officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Leaton United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, March 8, from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 5 – 8 p.m. An Odd Fellows service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

A private graveside service will be held at East Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

Elliott was born on January 12, 1943, in Saginaw, the son of Verne Brackett and Virginia (Perry) Brackett. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Elliott married Elizabeth Gaumer on November 13, 1965, in Saginaw. He worked as a lineman for GM for 30 years. Elliott was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Elliott enjoyed woodworking and worked as the caretaker and groundskeeper of a campground.

Elliott is survived by his children: Tammy (Jeff) Schwalm of Mt. Pleasant and Beth (Feliz) Perez of Mt. Pleasant. Grandchildren: Stephen (Kayla) Rosebrock, Brandon (Destiny) Schwalm, Elizabeth (David) Schwalm, Jennifer (Richard) Jenkins, Sarah (Vasilis) Mousas, Elliott Brackett III, Kurtis (Natalie) Brackett and MeKenzee Brackett; five great-grandchildren; significant other: Ann Sedell; and daughter-in-law: Lorna Brackett.

Elliott is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Elizabeth, son: Elliott, Jr.; sister: Ruth Whitney and brother: Roy Brackett
