Obituary for Elmira Ann Fletcher (Kadwell)
FLETCHER, Elmira A, age 101, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2021, at the Laurels in Perrinton, MI.
A Private Funeral Service for Elmira will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Joe McNerney officiating. The family will greet friends at a public visitation at the funeral chapel on Friday, March 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment will take place at Surrey Township Cemetery in Farwell, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Affairs. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Elmira was born on June 20, 1919, in Chase, Michigan, daughter of August and Edna (James) Kadwell. Elmira married Wilbur Fletcher on October 5, 1946, in Pontiac, MI. Elmira worked as a sub mail carrier in Farwell until her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed participating in 4-H, cub scouts, Red Hat Society, volunteering at Riverview apartments of Mt. Pleasant, and being a member of farm bureau.
Elmira is survived by her children, Wilbur (Connie) Fletcher, Jr. of Farwell, Gary (Ann) Fletcher of Hudsonville, and Debra Fletcher of Crystal; 8 Grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchildren.
Elmira was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wilbur; son, Wesley; and brothers, Albert, Lawrence, and Howard; and sister, Vivian Dawson.
